A face, a leaf, a dead cat turned to leather and bones. What is shown, what is hidden. My childhood made me hyper-observant; later, working with journalists taught me the usefulness of that trait. Observe, be curious, stare, get caught staring, observe cautiously, write, draw, carry a sketchbook and pen, always, because I feel bereft without them.
I make handmade books, journals, cards, art, calendars. I love working with paper and cutting up paper and gluing paper and collecting paper. I'm working toward a Book Arts Certificate at the Minnesota Center for Book Arts in Minneapolis.
I live in a great neighborhood in Saint Paul, Minnesota. I have a garden and a front porch where friends like to gather and play music. Guitars, mandolin, banjo, bass, singers -- a lot of fun. I love to sing and I typically have some kind of music playing as I work…
