Catherine Grans' Profile
I taught myself to quilt when I retired in 2006. I retired so I could help my daughter care for my grandson. He was 9 months old when I retired and didn't give me much time to quilt. He is now 9 and I have much more time to quilt. He learned his colors and how to count from all the quilts that I have made. Everytime I finish a new quilt, I show him and he always says "Nice Nanny". Couldn't ask for more. I sew everyday and am the happiest I have ever been. Life is really good.
I also feel compelled to tell all of you my deepest, darkest secret. I love-love-love the smell of fabric. I could stay in my sewing room all day long.
Let me tell you a little bit about my quilts. Unless specified in the description, each quilt is cut, pieced, sewn, quilted and bound by me. I do occasionally send out my larger quilts to be quilted on a longarm…
