About

This website came out of the head, heart and hands of Naomi Puor, a little girl living in a big and fascinating world, which currently materializes as Tel Aviv, Israel. A few years ago I started to crochet and sew, and have been turning my ideas and experiences into dolls and dresses ever since.
The doll series came into being when I was looking for something to crochet which is not hats or scarves, as Tel Aviv weather is really not great for that kind of clothing :-) Every doll is an expression of a part of me, and through them this part comes alive and starts its own life. Usually I start with a general idea of what the doll looks like, her colours or style, but her full personality and name come out during the process and sometimes even a long while after I finish her.
The dresses come mostly from a desire to turn the daily life into something more interesting, more like a fairytale…

Usually I start with a general idea of what the doll looks like, her colours or style, but her full personality and name come out during the process and sometimes even a long while after I finish her.
The dresses come mostly from a desire to turn the daily life into something more interesting, more like a fairytale. I strive to make the dresses wearable, although some are more suitable for fantasy dress up parties.
I teach amigurumi courses for beginners, which start with the basics, and strive to teach the student not only techniques and pattern reading skills, but also understanding of the shaping of the doll, so they can create their own. I find teaching very fulfilling, as it is always exciting to see someone who has never held a hook in their life producing a pig or elephant, and they always look different!!
I live and work in South Tel Aviv, am married and have three gorgeous cats.
