To me, Nature is God. Without it, we simply would not exist. I fully believe that humanity's continued disconnection from the natural world is a fundamental reason to return to our roots and focus on living with the earth as opposed to against it.

As such, all natural materials I use in my creations are either sourced from roadkill, Fish and Game, or secondhand sources such as fellow artists, auctions houses, estate sales, and antique stores.

I also support efforts by Fish and Wildlife to maintain ecological balance by culling problem species such as invasive exotics and overpopulated natives. In this way, I'm ensuring that no animals were needlessly killed for the sake of the artwork I produce. I fully believe that no part of any creature should go to waste if a purpose can be found for it, but I do not support trophy hunters or fur farms by buying byproducts like bones, skulls, furs, or claws directly from them.

Aside from my work as as a taxidermist and pelt handler, I also have training in wilderness survival, am a self-taught photographer, and participate in both bow-hunting and fishing during appropriate seasons to obtain my own food directly from the Earth. My home is the Pacific Northwest of North America, but my ancestors originate from West Germanic tribes in Europe. Some aspects of their pre-Christian beliefs still shape my current body of work, and spiritual followings.
