Audra's Profile

About

Maritime culture has fascinated me since childhood, but it was not until my teenage years -when I first began working on the brig Lady Washington- that I became familiar with the skills of the traditional sailor known as marlingspike seamanship. It is an art as rich in history as it is in variability, and is the perfect combination of decoration and practicality. I continue to work -off and on- aboard the Lady Washington, where I further my studies in marlingspike seamanship, and ashore I seek to produce authentic pieces of maritime art that are both original and true to tradition.
