About

I grew up in Leelanau County, parading my love of color and texture through the woods, to the beaches and into the garden. Now I live near Traverse City, the town where I was born. This Summer I aspire to lead a farmers life, charmed with bee's, animals great and small, flowers, veggies, cooking great meals, staying barefoot most of the day, while creating beautiful garments to bring to my Etsy shop.

My design inspiration comes from the challenge of "why buy it when you can make it?" and my curiosity of how "things" are made. I limit my own consumption of conventional purchasing in order to flex my creativity. I try making many different types of garments, from skirts to bathing suits, under panties to bow ties, dresses to bloomers.

My design efficiency stems from the variation of fabrics that come to me through many different means. For instance the Wrap Skirt is made without waste, and doesn't require a wide range of sizes since it wraps. Usually I may only have a few yards of each piece of fabric so that limits how many garments may be produced. It is crucial that each garment fits a range of shapes and sizes. Since there are so few garments made in each bit of fabric, sometimes only one, this makes the skirts that much more special.

Quality and attention to detail, undoubtably, are my keys to beautiful garments that out live trends and survive performance.
