When I was asked by my Mother (who owns this shop) to type down a description about her, I was a little bit skeptic on if I could write down a proper biography about her. To describe my mother in a few words it would probably be: Shallow, Narcissistic, Demeaning, don't get me wrong I love her to death, its just that as her son I feel as if I have a duty to be as honest as I possibly can. That being said that doesn't mean she isn't a good person. Born on July 8th 1973 In El Salvador, My Mom was the 3rd eldest child of her family which consisted of 6 Kids, 1 brother and 3 sisters and one sister who passed away when they were very young, and a hard-working father and strong mother. Being a city kid, life wasn't as different when compared to the rest of her family who lived in farms and would often spend all day playing outside, out of all the kids in her family my mom was probably the worst, taking any opportunity to misbehave or spew…

About

Being a city kid, life wasn't as different when compared to the rest of her family who lived in farms and would often spend all day playing outside, out of all the kids in her family my mom was probably the worst, taking any opportunity to misbehave or spew foul language, my mom was the problem child that many families have, nonetheless, she and her immediate family were inseparable and spent many days together something that you may not see as often today. Going to school my mother was a bit of a tomboy, she would wear a white uniform when going to school but coming home the uniform would be anything but white, in 3rd grade she began to take classes on arts and craft and learned the basics to crochet. She once told me how it felt when she first held a hook and yarn, how it surprisingly natural it was. This came in handy when my mother first came to America, forced to leave her siblings behind when coming here my mom saw that crochet was a constant that had helped her in her most difficult times giving her a better perspective on her life and the many changes that come with it. Crocheting had been a help not only for her outlook but for our environment as well, the little money she makes from her products have proven to be more than enough for paying things that we needed such as our home, food, even the clothes on our backs. To go back to my earlier statement, if i could describe my mom in a few words it would be: Shallow, Narcissistic, Demeaning, Loving, Caring, Smart, Funny, and one of the best people you will ever meet. Crocheting for over 30 years my mom has put every hat, scarf, and glove with as much care and love that she has shown to her kids, speaking about her as her son I know my mother works harder than the next person and even harder than the person after that (What with running this store and her other store MunchkinHats) and I wish I could find the right words to show my appreciation to her sacrifices that she made for my sake, but perhaps this description and compliments that she had been given for her works are enough for her, with all the love and kindness she shows to both her family and her crochet works she ensures that her product are a step or two above the competition, and she somehow still has the energy to deal with a Sarcastic, Dry-humored son. (that's me).
