About

My love of fashion began at a very early age when I learned the "ancient" family tradition of sewing. Extremely unhappy with the apparel that I saw available in stores, I began purchasing patterns and altering them, using creative fabrics to complete the look I wanted. In addition, I would reconstruct thrift store finds.

After high school I had a brief stint at the Art Institute of Seattle. It was there that I learned more advanced sewing skills and pattern drafting. Unsatisfied with art school, I moved on to other interests.

A few years later I took up a serious interest in design after creating Irish Dance dresses for my friend and I to wear during our competitions.

At this time I became truly addicted to designing and sewing. I began creating my own clothing again by combining my passion for classic films, vintage clothing, punk and rockabilly. From there I created a small line under the name of "Betty Buccaneer." I made my creations available on Ebay, then built my own website shortly after.

Today, my clothing line goes under the name of "Nicole Katherine Designs."

I'm completing my degree in Apparel Manufacturing Management at FIDM in Los Angeles. I've had the fortunate experience of working with many wonderful people. This includes my internship with Annamarie Von Foley of Revamp Vintage; designing wardrobe for Pin-Ups Hair Design's promotional shoots and working with many gifted photographers.

I put my heart and soul into everything I create and take joy in seeing my creations beautifully adorning each one of my customers.
