Gina B.'s Profile
My work is greatly inspired by the ancient mosaic style of the Aztecs, particularly ceremonial masks such as the Mask Of Xiuhtecuhtli, which were created using hundreds of small chips of turquoise inlayed on cedar wood. These masks were valuable because they were believed to be powerful, deriving some of their power from the energy of the natural materials used to create them. Common mosaic materials were turquoise, obsidian, gold pyrite, pearl, coral, and shell.
While my craft will always be a form of meditation above all, it wasn't until the birth of my son that I really strived to pursue my passion full time. He has inspired me in countless ways, and like many parents once he was brought into my life I dreamed of the day I would be able to work from home. It has taken me a little over two years to arrive to this point, but I'm beyond elated to say that I am finally there. Thank you so much…
