Karen V. Schaub's Profile

About

I am an artist and designer with degrees in Textile Design and Interior Architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design. I am inspired by all things beautiful, especially strong contrasts of color and pattern.

I learned to knit on a knitting machine (think of it as a loom that knits), before I learned to hand knit. A knitting machine is an amazing tool, as it allows for new ideas and materials to be explored quickly. I work primarily on a Brother manual bulky machine to produce my hats and scarves, as I often run 4 or 5 smaller gauge yarns together to achieve a specific color and contrast.
