About

My lifelong dream has been to run a business of my own. After some success selling jewelry to my friends, co-workers, night-clubs, and at local surf-shop sidewalk sales in San Diego, I quit my day job in the financial industry 3 weeks before my 30th birthday in 2012.

I pursued my lifelong dream of running my own business. It has been less than a year, and I couldn't be happier. Each morning, I walk my dog the less than 80 steps to the beach and walk along the shoreline with a coffee cup in hand before beginning my day designing my one-of-a-kind jewelry.

The hardest part of getting to where I am now was oddly just being okay with my own style preference! My style was difficult to define: I like a mix of new and old, store-bought and up-cycled, glamorous and bohemian, all of which describes my own closet. I grew up with 3…

I grew up with 3 brothers and playing with Lego’s, action figures, building forts, and riding dirt bikes. This left little room for me to explore the world of fashion. I had no style, but I knew I liked textures. The only thing I cared about was if my clothing was flexible enough for me to run in and was soft to the touch.

I was never one for name brand clothing or wearing anything with logos or emblems. (You’ll notice that not one of my designs has a tag with my logo on it; it keeps the cost down for you.) When I was young, I liked the idea of expressing myself with different colors, cuts, textures, and accessories. When I was 12 I started shopping for myself in 2nd hand clothing stores. It wasn’t until my 20’s and after I relocated from the Northwest to southern California that I started to embrace not only fashion, but my personality and curvy body. I realized I’d rather have a few nice things that fit me perfectly and represented who I was, rather than a surplus of mass produced clothing. That’s when my love of finely crafted and handmade items blossomed.

I believe that what I wear and create should represent who I am. Wherever possible I use up-cycled materials from jewelry donated to me by friends, things I find out in the world while on the beach or riding my bike, or from flea markets. I like the idea of reusing and having fewer things go to waste. Beauty is truly everywhere, and I love to shed light on it through my designs. I buy new pieces from local stores in San Diego and during my travels throughout the United States.

To have women come through my shop and buy as many pieces as possible has never been my intention. I design each piece to be very unique, and I'm fulfilled when I hear women say, "This is so me!" I want every woman to wear one of my design that represents her style, enhances her grace, beauty, and power within.
