Loretta Clark's Profile

About

My name is Loretta, I grew up in Pennsylvania and worked for a time iin New York before relocating to Arizona.

I am a self-taught artist/crafter, have always enjoyed being creative. I have more than 35 years experience off and on of doing fine art/craft shows and consignment in shops; however, this type of marketing has become unsuitable for me so thru the suggestion of an acquaintance I joined Etsy to have my hand crafted products more widely available.

My specialty has always been ceramics; I do my own casting and kiln firing from my own molds and do some combined clay sculpturing. I mostly airbrush or hand paint the ceramic bisque pieces, most of them small animals, miniatures (many of a Southwestern nature) and other pieces of interest. This includes working with stoneware/porcelain bulk clay which requires a high temperature kiln firing in most cases to achieve a good sound in windchimes.

Since retiring from a full-time job I have had the luxury of expanding my interest in fabric art, notecards, cloth "hug" dolls, and miscellaneous pieces that are not limited to any particular category. This adds to my variety but sorry that I do not accept custom orders.

I love color, working with fabric, and strive for quality and attention to detail. My other main interests are gardening and sewing. I live where the desert meets the mountains with my husband, Frank, and my two little companion Yorkies.
