About

I love making things that make people feel awesome when they wear it! And I am passionate about taking something destined for the landfill and making it beautiful again. I try to do both, a little at a time.

I adore working with words. Words are so powerful. Time and again I have seen how a necklace with just the right word on it can encourage someone, touch their heart, or just make them laugh when they are going through a difficult time. A fun brightly colored locket that says "brave" on it for a young girl facing major surgery. And "dream bigger darling" for a young woman about to embark on her adult life. A necklace that simply says "breathe" for a single mom who barely has time to do just that. A pendant holding the definition of love for a mom watching her daughter get married. A Sugar Pie Honey Bunch necklace for the friend who needs to remember to blast some Motown and let loose…

A necklace that simply says "breathe" for a single mom who barely has time to do just that. A pendant holding the definition of love for a mom watching her daughter get married. A Sugar Pie Honey Bunch necklace for the friend who needs to remember to blast some Motown and let loose every once in awhile! When someone connects with the right piece and I see how it just made them feel a little lighter or have a laugh I know that this is truly my dream job.

My super-husband Cory and I live close by our smashingly big and wonderful family with kids always about and tea always brewing. I work and live in a 200+ year old farmhouse complete with old plank floors and wallpaper so bizarre you somehow can't bear to cover it up (think dark gold irises and vines against a navy backdrop and birds...so many birds... and what appears to be stalks of wheat?) because you know you would miss it a little.

My creative business is like a good friend, always there but doesn't get offended if I don't see it for awhile. I was diagnosed with systemic lupus at the tender age of 11 and since then a number of other autoimmune illnesses have come and gone and some have sadly stayed. Because of this, the hours I am able to keep tend to change very quickly and sometimes very drastically. So I work super long days when I can and love every minute of it but there's no boss upset with me when I can't.

Having dealt with chronic illness my whole life has taught me to appreciate laughter. It is SO important to have humor in your life! I always strive to make things that will make people smile. And to spark funny conversations with people. Example: "What's that say on your necklace... Does that say "lettuce" and "turnip" and then "the beet"...? What does that mean? Ohhhhh, I get it now!!! Lettuce, like let us, and turn up, oh that's clever! Ha!" See? Now you feel great, they've had a chuckle, I've brightened several people's day right there! Mission accomplished :) Sometimes you can't take life SO seriously. There's enough seriousness in the world. Watch something funny. Have a laugh. Smile! And if stud earrings that say "cool whip" on it is what it takes, so be it. I made those just for you.
