Deborah Olliff's Profile

About

Thank you for your interest in my art. My earliest art memory was when a girl in elementary school begged me to draw a horse for her. I recall her watching intently as I drew. In school I rejoiced when it rained because that meant we stayed indoors and did “art”! Art is where I felt most confident.

In a high school I was inspired by a student with a most unique watercolor style. I learned more from him than I did from the teacher and it stuck with me. Later I became interested in digital art and completed a degree in Graphic Communications and ran a small design business for several years. I was later hired by the graphics department of the San Diego County Office of Education where I worked for over 10 years until I recently retiring to devote full time to my art and I am loving it.

I like to paint images that "transport." Several years ago one of my island series paintings was purchased by a psychologist to hang in his office for it's calming quality. I hope you find something here that takes you away too.
