About

I blame my daughter, Wendy, completely for my fused glass art! She talked me into learning fused glass, not that my arm had to be twisted TOO much. Frankly, having the chance to be creative AND work with my daughter is a dream. And when she disagrees with me, I just pull the mother card, and all's well.

BRIGHT AND INVENTIVE: I love bright colors! The glass I use for all my work is hand-blown and hand-rolled by Bullseye Glass in Portland, OR. They make the most beautiful colors, and I buy them all. I love playing with surprising color combinations as well as building themes with similar hues. I also get bored very easily (a family trait, sadly). This means I love to try new techniques, new looks, and new themes in my work. I am constantly growing and expanding my repertoire of skills.

OUR INSPIRATIONS: Gustav Klimt for his rich swirls and golds, Frank Lloyd Wright for his linear simplicity, and HGTV for their DIY room makeovers! I have studied art in college and through classes--not just fused glass, but drawing, painting, and ceramics, too. (I even took a jewelry class in high school a million years ago and made some pretty cool silver rings). My home is filled with the art of our friends and artists I admire, and I love nothing better than thumbing through an art book or going to the Seattle Art Museum.

CUSTOM ORDERS: I love to make something special for our customers. I will work with you to develop an idea, making sure the colors, size, shape, and feel is just right. Simply write to us and share your ideas. I'll see what I can do!

WEBSITE: www.OmegaArtDesign.com. I have some additional work on the website, especially the fused glass tiles, showing you what they look like with different colors of grout and solid tiles mixed in.
