About

So, you've decided to buy some fairy wings! Congratulations on exhibiting such exquisite taste!

My name is Angelia Doyle, and I am a part-time costumer with designs of taking over the world. My own personal Weapon of Mass Distraction: Fairy Wings! Hey, a girl can dream can’t she? Although, I did learn the hard way *not* to use the phrase ‘Evil Diabolical Plan’ on my resume. Lesson learned.

How on earth did I get into making fairy wings of all things? That’s a good question! Waaaaaay back when I was in college, I was an Art Major, and I developed an affinity for the goth culture…only, I wasn’t filled with quite enough angst. I found that there was a movement of “Perky Goths,” and one of the pastimes they seemed to enjoy was making (you guessed it) fairy wings. They looked so beautiful in the online pictures that I…

They looked so beautiful in the online pictures that I saw, and I found my artistic side crying out to make my own pair. And make my own, I did! And then I made another pair, and another. It soon became an obsession for me, and I was swimming in fairy wings. It was at that point that I decided that I needed to start selling them or risk losing my dog forever under the piles of wings.

That’s when I opened my online venture, On Gossamer Wings.

Over the years (almost 18 of them to be exact), I’ve been inspired by everything around me from autumn leaves to stripey socks…ok, ESPECIALLY stripey socks…they make me happy!! Anyhoo, some of my favorite artists are Amy Brown, Molly Harrison, Linda Ravenscroft, Renee Biertempfel, and Nene Thomas. Their influence can sometimes be spotted in my work.

Those years of design and inhaling fairy dust have resulted in some amazing opportunities. I’ve had the distinct pleasure of having my work featured in Disney’s Pixar Parade at Disney’s California Adventure Park (be sure to stop by and see them!), Faerie Magazine, my very first European fashion show at the 3 Wishes Faery Festival, and the Avalon Faery Ball in Glastonbury. Most recently, I have had the honor of having my work grace the cover of FAE Magazine!

All of my fairy wings are completely handmade by me and me alone (the darn dog won't do a lick of work). They are made using the finest materials possible. The fairy dust I use is harvested from immature, and therefore untainted, fairies. These are the sparkliest (yes, it’s a word…just ask any three-year old) that can be found, causing all wings I make to practically dance in the sunlight. If you need your wings to dance in the *moonlight*, please let me know, because those moonglow fairies are really tough to catch.

On Gossamer Wings....often imitated, never duplicated.
