A little about me...In August of 2009 due to state budget cuts I was laid off my job as a Case Worker for child victims of Domestic Violence. Shortly after that I was diagnosed with cancer. Bored and with the need to keep my mind busy I set out to teach myself how to sew. My sister was storing a sewing machine she had bought, with intentions on learning to sew, in my garage. So I brought it in the house and began to sew. The first thing I made was a princess dress for my 4 year old niece. After sewing the dress together and taking it apart a few times I finally finished it and it came out great, not perfect but great. Since then I have been making myself as well as family and friends various items from Boho inspired diaper bags, aprons, pillows, blankets and simple clothing. I still consider myself a beginner but I try my best to make things as close to perfect as possible. If something is not right I take it apart and start over. For…

For me sewing and creating other items is a therapy for life and all the hard balls it seems to throw at you.
I enjoy using anything vintage, especially lace. I just think it gives something more personality. My favorite thing about handmade items is the little imperfections that come with them, it's just a little reminder that we are human and not perfect.
