About

When I was 7, in the mid 70's, my parents and I moved to the U.S. from Korea. One of the first American movies I remember watching was the Sound of Music. Fraulien Maria had me at "The Hills Are Alive". And Baroness Schraeder? Beauty, brains, breeding and that killer chignon, I mean come on. The movie convinced me that American women twirled around in chiffon dresses and kitten heels whilst singing their problems away and that homes were decorated in french provincial furniture with gold guilded foyers overlooking a picturesque lake and snowcapped mountains. Surely there had to be little boys wearing lederhosen running and singing in my neighborhood. I didn't speak English at the time so you can understand my confusion. That was not how Americans lived I soon realized but that was when my love for vintage all began.
