Welcome to our corner of the world of lapidary craft. We’re the Aggers, Bowdy and Kathy. Our journey into stone cutting began with my taking a class in opal cutting in 1993, I’d been a rock hound for as long as I could remember. Welcome to our corner of the world of lapidary craft. We’re the Aggers, Bowdy and Kathy. Our journey into stone cutting began with my taking a class in opal cutting in 1993, I’d been a rock hound for as long as I could remember. Bowdy enrolled in a jewelry class a few years later, finding an outlet for his own creativity in lost wax casting, and becoming a silversmith. I’d been beading for fun, and family during that time as well, as I’d been pretty much stuck at home, unable to keep a regular job. I’d been diagnosed in 2000 with Lupus and it took several years to finally bring it under control. Creating things of beauty helped us both cope with the instability of my health, and many of the cabochons listed here are from those days, a triumph of our fierce desire to never let the disease entirely control our lives. We look for and hand cut, unique treasures in our home here in Southern California.
We hope you’ll visit our site quite often and enjoy our discoveries as we chip away at the mysterious lumps of stuff from this incredible planet’s beautiful treasury.
