About

I have been enamored by woven textiles, natural fibers, indigenous dying techniques, anything that connects me to a distant past, a handmade, natural way of life for most of my adult years.

I bought my first sewing machine twenty years ago and began piecing beautiful textiles together creating handmade clothing, quilts and fiber art.

I have always felt that my hands were made to work, to create something new. Raised by a mother who is an accomplished abstract painter, color was a big part of my life growing up. I wanted to MAKE something fresh all the time, something to reflect the perfect flow and design that permeates the natural world.

Using sustainable fibers and eco conscious dye is my way of thanking the Earth for her GIFTS and giving back to this beautiful, holy world…

Using sustainable fibers and eco conscious dye is my way of thanking the Earth for her GIFTS and giving back to this beautiful, holy world.

In the creation of Ora Organic Clothing, I hope to evoke an ancient time when clothing was made slowly and sewn with intention, the cloth itself felt sacred, rather than produced en masse in a sweatshop.

The organic hemp/cotton blends are custom dyed by me in my home studio, using Eco conscious dyes for plant fibers. Everything is sewn with extra care and often dried outside on the line in Boulder, Colorado.

I welcome you to enjoy my clothing, created with love and the highest intention to be ethically made, local and sustainable. I get great pleasure out of creating my designs and sharing my passion of beautiful, handmade organic fiber clothing with the mothers, sisters, daughters, and keepers of the earth.

"She is clothed with strength and dignity and laughs without fear of the future."

love,
Ora
