About

Recycling and repurposing discarded papers to create and breath new life into them is my passion and my addiction. Upcycling is now on top of my sexy vocabulary list. Rrrraooor!

I came about this quite by accident. I'm some-what lazy by nature.

There.

I said it.

Hate throwing things out. Although the recycle bin is just a few meters away outside, I don't get to it as often as I should. Hence, pile ups everywhere.

When you live in a small place, clutter looks like clutter---no matter how artistic you want to get with it. My pile of newspapers, magazines, brochures and flyers was getting out of hand. I tried in vain, to look for a nice, "cutesy-wootsy" bin or basket that would house the…

I tried in vain, to look for a nice, "cutesy-wootsy" bin or basket that would house the papers until I could get out to that recycle bin outdoors.

Did I tell you I was lazy?

Days went by. Weeks went by and still no solution to be found. I'd stare at this pile in disgust.

It was finally decided to make a bin that would do specifically what I wanted it to.

The thought of making a papier mache bin had crossed my mind, but laying right next to the paper pile, was a braided rug I had made out of fabric which I had collected during the years long world traveling.

BING!!!!

That's the thought bubble opening up over my head.

Why not braid papers together?

Why not?

Well, the rest is, as they say --- history. But not history as in Napolean Bonaparte history kind of way.

Please convo me for any custom work you'd like to have done. The possibilities are limitless and I love a challenge.

Go on. I dare you.

I double dare you!

Sincerely,
Julie Peek ex-lover of paper messes.
