In this automated age of email, cell phones and text messaging, I'm banking on the belief that people still use the postal service on occasion and still send greeting cards. "Your card made me smile" people often tell me upon receiving one of my designs in the mail or with a gift. Others offer backhanded compliments such as, "I didn't realize it was handmade. My love of animals and appreciation for the natural world inform much of my work, as does my experience working in the fields of environmental protection, education, and animal welfare. Currently employed as an adoption counselor at the Dakin Humane Society in western Massachusetts, I derive many ideas for designs from the wonderful animals who come through our adoption center. I also draw tremendous inspiration from the creatures who share my home, currently two adopted, mixed-breed dogs and many adopted gerbils.

The creative process for me is both challenging and rewarding; I find no greater satisfaction than giving people reasons to smile, contemplate and question through my artwork.
