If you would like to know a little more about me personally, this is the right place.

I'm a spiritual person and I have a strong faith in Jesus Christ; I hope that whatever I do in my life reflects Him. I'm not always successful in that, but I continue to grow and learn along the way and He is infinitely patient.

I'm a spiritual person and I have a strong faith in Jesus Christ; I hope that whatever I do in my life reflects Him. I'm not always successful in that, but I continue to grow and learn along the way and He is infinitely patient.

I like to make just about anything and I love to take something ugly or useless and turn it into something beautiful and useful. I've always been creative and artistic, but have no formal training. Most of my designs are very feminine and have a vintage feel, but I enjoy most styles and like to venture into new territory from time to time.

When I'm not working on orders and new designs for Parchment Posies, I spend time with my husband and two teenage boys. I love to read, garden, decorate the house - then redecorate it, listen to music of all kinds and restore my vintage 1955 Va-Ka-Shun-Ette (isn't that a great 50's name!) travel trailer. Hopefully I will be able to add camping to the list if we ever get it finished.

One of my favorite things in the world is flowers. My love of flowers started with visiting my great-grandmother's little shack of a house every year for a HUGE easter egg hunt. Her place was out in the middle of nowhere Mississippi and surrounded by cotton fields, but I loved her yard. It was probably about an acre of completely unkempt shrubs and perennials that were scattered willy nilly wherever they grew best. She had climbing roses dripping with double blossoms, irises, daffodils, peonies, hyacinths, forsythia, and a host of other colorful and fragrant blooms. Many of them congregated in ditches or leaned against old chippy painted outbuildings. I thought if I could live in that yard, I would always be the happiest girl alive!

She sent me home every year at the end of the hunt with a fistful of her glorious flowers wrapped with care in a damp paper towel to preserve them, the best she could, for my journey home. I wonder how my parents managed to ride home with my brother and me, 24 cracked and sun-warmed eggs, and a large bouquet of sickening sweet flowers from Granny's yard all closed up in a 1976 Buick station wagon. That's love!
