Molly Katzenmeyer's Profile

About

It seems I've been making things all my life. My mother always had plenty of art supplies on hand when we were growing up. I learned to knit at a neighbor's when they babysat me at 6, my great grandmother taught me to crochet at 8 and my mom finally had enough of my begging and taught me to sew at 10.
There's something so satisfying in the creation of a beautiful object.
As time goes by, I'm drawn to the idea of repurposing used or unwanted items into something new. I've always loved garage sales, thrift stores and "curbside recycling" is also one of my favorite things.
My grand parents were married during the depression and even though my mother sometimes laughed at the extent of my grandmother's thriftiness, it was clear that she took those lessons with her in her own life and passed them on to her children.
