Carrie's Profile

About

Hi I am Carrie a mother of 2 very energetic boys.

I am inspired by a combination of the country hillsides and the bustling city. The textures of nature and the bright colors of the urban scene meld together in the works I create. A great love for antiques and the details they display also stimulate my various designs.

Each of my creations starts with an element that catches my eye; adding one piece at a time. Showing attention to fine details with hand knotting and wiring is an important part of my process. I find myself drawn to natural elements including; semiprecious stones, wood, fibers, and various metals. All of my designs are unique and one of a kind pieces of art.

This shop is a collaboration of my passions: finding the perfect pieces of remnants, beads, fabric, buttons, and more…

This shop is a collaboration of my passions: finding the perfect pieces of remnants, beads, fabric, buttons, and more. My mind is always brimming with new designs, as I see the world as one big art box with endless design possibilities. I am located in Portland, Oregon, and thrilled to embark on this journey with you!

I have aspired to create from what is around me since a very early age. A friend recently reminded me of the crating room we had set up in my basement while we were in JR. high. I had dreams of designing and decorating everything around me. I have a vision of what it “could be”. I have the ability to see past the flaws. I see the good parts and love to improve upon that!

As a young girl I remember visiting my Grandpas and feasting my eyes on the collection of Antiques he once sold. One fond memory I have is the time my Grandmother let me choose from the stores of Antiques awaiting customers in the guesthouse. I choose a sweet little bracelet my grandpa had polished the stones himself! It took me many years to make the connection. Oh I finally realized that he was a Jeweler by trade. You see he had passed away when I was only 6.

I have dabbled in Trash to treasure furniture and antiques with my own little space in an Antique mall. After having my 2 rambunctious boys I knew I needed to find my niche. I needed something that would include my love of all things old and detailed and my love to create and work with color. I set out with the idea of creating many different little treasures. I opened my Etsy shop with a few of the pieces of Jewelry I had created in the past to see where this adventure would take me.

Since opening my shop I now sell in 2 stores in the Pearl district of Portland Oregon and have sold at home shows and to friends and friends of friends! My Jewelry is one of a kind and created with great care. I choose each element 1 at a time adding until the piece is refined to fit and lay just right.

My pieces are eye catching and definitely great conversation starters. My customers have reported on and on about the comments they receive of how unique they truly are!
