Patricia Elkovitch's Profile
When I was growing up, my bedroom was originally planned as a solarium, which was just a "fancy" way of saying a closed porch. My room was very small and it also housed my mother's old Singer sewing machine.
At night, I would pull the covers over my head to block out the light, and I would fall asleep with my mother sewing. In the small space of my room, the sound of the motor humming and the clicking of the presser foot as it grabbed the material through to the needle was my lullaby. Since those days, I have found great comfort in the sound of a sewing machine.
While I do custom quilting and sewing, I also scrounge (yes, scrounge) around tag and estate sales to find quality vintage sewing notions, quilts and textiles.
I hope you visit my shop often because I never know…
