PaulineInParis' Profile

About

Hello and welcome to Pauline in Paris! This shop is named for my charming friend Pauline, who is 10 years old. She has red curly hair and sparkling brown eyes. Pauline has been enchanted by Paris since her aunt Melody began taking her there years ago. Together they scour the famous flea markets for vintage textiles and antique millinery. Pauline and Melody spend hours in Les Tuileries and eat macaroons at Laduree.

While strolling the streets of Paris, Pauline fell in love with the ubiquitous scarf worn by every sophisticated French woman. This inspired Pauline to begin braiding together some of her favorite textiles to make colorful accessories for herself and Melody. While strolling the streets of Paris, Pauline fell in love with the ubiquitous scarf worn by every sophisticated French woman. This inspired Pauline to begin braiding together some of her favorite textiles to make colorful accessories for herself and Melody. Soon, her friends were pleading with her to make a “Pauline Tie” for them, and people were stopping her in shops and along the avenues, asking to purchase them.

Melody was inspired to create elegant bouquets from the antique and vintage millinery flowers, ribbons, and laces she collected. One day, her good friend (a famous NY fashion designer) asked her to make her a wedding bouquet. Melody’s Bouquets de Fleurs have now become all the rage in New York.

The Pauline in Paris shop is also fortunate to carry “Violettas,” elegant lace-covered faux pearl necklaces and bracelets you’re sure to love. These are the inspiration of Violetta, a friend of Pauline and Melody, who hand sews lace and other fabrics to faux pearls, creating these romantic pieces.

New York is where Melody and Pauline live with their dog Mimi. Throughout the day, Mimi chases a ball the length of their lovely loft, then naps happily in baskets of fabrics and ribbons.

After much coaxing, they have given me the exclusive for selling their exquisite one-of-a-kind couture creations. Enjoy!
