About

My sister Ibby, who started Persimmon Puzzles, and I came from a family who loved putting puzzles together. Our father would bring wooden puzzles back for us when he went away on business trips. We both loved collecting jigsaw puzzles and have been doing so since we were little kids. We always thought it would be great fun to actually make puzzles ourselves, so awhile back we took the plunge and started cutting wooden puzzles.

Pretty soon after that, Ibby started Persimmon Puzzles here on Etsy. She took me on as a partner late last year to help her with the puzzle cutting in order to keep up with the orders. Her dream was to get quality wooden puzzles into the hands of as many people as she could. Her dream was to get quality wooden puzzles into the hands of as many people as she could. To quote Ibby, "We both love collecting jigsaw puzzles and have been doing so since we were little kids...we love cutting jigsaw puzzles...we love putting jigsaw puzzles together...we love even tricking ourselves with one of our own puzzles! Puzzles, paper, glue, paint, sawdust...everywhere...all the time! So much fun!"

Ha! I will miss that fun, and my sister forever! Just before she passed away this year she asked me to keep Persimmon Puzzles going, and to continue making and selling puzzles, which I readily agreed to do.

A little about me: I live in Sequim, WA with my two cats. My 4 grown up kids live in the Seattle area, so I see them frequently. It's nice to have family nearby.

Persimmon Puzzles are cut one piece at a time in a variety of shapes and sizes, from kid-friendly to diabolical. There is a huge assortment of images available to choose from, listed on the site here. I can also make fun custom puzzles from your photographs if you like. Once they are ready, each puzzle is snugly packaged in a beautiful box, ready to fly away to be enjoyed by an avid puzzling fan.

Cheers to all the happy puzzlers around the world!!
