Once upon a time I was a sane person. Then I majored in Theatre Technology (costumes, of course) Eventualy I'll be a coatmaker. But I didn't go in for sewing to churn out the latest fashions, I was really more interested in Jacobean embroidery, ruffs, and Cavalier flounces than in big name couture houses. Most of my experience came from trial and error, theatre classes, and long hours of thinking "Gee, I wonder how I could pull together a Cthulhu cultist halloween costume in 6 hours with naught but a leather coat and copious applications of stage blood..."
Because somewhere along the line I decided to upgrade my degree from "mildly useless" to "extremely useless" I decided to specialize in Jacobean embroidery, and leather garments and armor. Which was incredibly fun to learn, but alas, not terribly practical.
Now I am hard at work…
