About

A single mom to boys aged 13 & 19 years, I am currently on long term medical leave from my place of employment of more than 20 years as an RN in a busy big city hospital Emergency Department.

Prior to my career in nursing, I was educated as an Animal Health Technician aka Veterinary Technician.

My first love has always been for animals & though I wasn't able to cope with the "animals as disposable items" frame of mind too often encountered while working in a conventional veterinary clinic setting, I remain dedicated & devoted to the cause of animal welfare.

I myself am registered on Petfinder.com as Love for Life Pet Rescue though I am downsized considerably in regards to active adoptions, however, I am involved with The Pride Rescue, also registered on…

I myself am registered on Petfinder.com as Love for Life Pet Rescue though I am downsized considerably in regards to active adoptions, however, I am involved with The Pride Rescue, also registered on Petfinder.com.

The Pride Rescue runs a high volume, high placement mostly cat rescue, with a soft spot for feral & other cats most frequently turned away by other rescues.

TNR ( trap, neuter, return ) has recently been approved in the city of Hamilton, where The Pride Rescue is located & Nicole, the remarkable young woman who manages The Pride is making a monumental effort to reduce the numbers of homeless cats & kittens by directly participating in this campaign.

The expense of doing rescue is overwhelming, both financially & emotionally. The Pride maintains a high population of permanent residents & feral colonies in addition to the high number of accepted from death row at regional animal control facilities, pregnant & nursing momma cats trapped on the streets & those surrendered by people unwilling to maintain care.

There is no funding, food donations are few & far between. Veterinary care, though discounted in some cases, is provided to each & every animal each life is cherished & valued & extreme measures taken to ensure a chance for every little angel that is lucky enough to reach Nicole! As well as tending to the sick, all other animals are vaccinated, spayed or neutered prior to adoption. The adoption fees cover only a small portion of the high expenses.

The profits of the sale of the items offered here will go directly toward the ongoing care & expense of both the permanent residents of Love for Life & The Pride Rescues as well as to the expenses of active rescue efforts.

In time, I will be offering pet friendly items which will be designated for sale to the cause of your choice...for example, TNR, sponsorship of a specific cat or kitten.

The current goal is to recoup some of the cost for recent eye removal surgery on dear little Lancelot...you can learn more about Lance or the many others available for adoption by visiting Petfinder.com.
