Erica Mosley's Profile

About

Pirate Cat (aka Erica May) prowls the seas for wayside wools to disassemble and upcycle into original hand knit and crocheted loot.

I am a self-taught knitter and fiber recycler, and I learned crochet and the art of thriftiness from my mother. In my down-time I like reading, writing, and being an itinerant farmer.

I love special orders! Please message me with your fiber or color requests, and I will come up with something special for you.

About Upcycled Yarns

Upcycled yarn comes from discarded (but high quality) sweaters and knitwear. This is a resourceful, responsible, and cost-effective way to get unique, specialty fiber yarn for your knit and crochet projects.

I thoroughly wash, relax, re-skein, and measure my yarns, and remove any less-than-perfect sections. I do not weight my yarn while drying; weighting can stretch the yarn, compromising strength and lusciousness. This is a one-woman operation (with occasional help from Hubby Cat), all done by hand with lots of love.
