In 2011 each woman began her own small craft business, creating products out of various materials, and joining up to share table space at craft shows, farmer's markets and a local shop. The goal of both efforts was the same: Make it by hand, make it well, and make it affordable.
It soon became apparent that these two little entities needed to become one. They already shared space, expenses and bloodlines, so the next step was obvious. Out of this, Poverty Barn was born.
The name Poverty Barn started out as a little joke made by Scott. He told us that if we ever created a business, that's what we should call it. We girls took him seriously. And…
