Hi fellow lovers of all things handcrafted!!

I am happily married to a loving, patient and understanding husband. He often endures tv dinners or take-out food and a messy house filled with papers, fabric and beads. He also instinctively knows to leave me at it when I get that crazed and dazed look on my face. The common look of a crafter who's in the "thick" of it and lovin' it!

I am also the "momma" of an adorable and lovable little dog named Baxter. Baxter merely tolerates my crafting as it interferes with his much needed belly rubs. And he sooo loves those belly rubs!

About

Hi fellow lovers of all things handcrafted!!

I am happily married to a loving, patient and understanding husband. He often endures tv dinners or take-out food and a messy house filled with papers, fabric and beads. He also instinctively knows to leave me at it when I get that crazed and dazed look on my face. The common look of a crafter who's in the "thick" of it and lovin' it!

I am also the "momma" of an adorable and lovable little dog named Baxter. Baxter merely tolerates my crafting as it interferes with his much needed belly rubs. And he sooo loves those belly rubs!

I began making jewelry and handbags as gifts for friends, but soon discovered others who wanted to purchase my wares. As a full-time teacher, I crafted on the weekends and entered summer craft shows. Thus, balancing the joys in my life. My love of children and the pleasure of creating something beautiful with my hands. Life was unbelievably good!

However, on an early September morning, fate dealt me a blow. I was in a horrible highway/freeway accident involving the car I was traveling in and a large semi-truck. Thankfully, my injuries were not life threatening--bumps, bruises, surgery for a broken hand, and a body in need of much physical therapy.

I was, however, left extremely traumatized and shaken. Slowly, I began the long and painful process of healing. I could sit up for a few hours versus a few minutes, I had the courage to drive my car versus taking a taxi, I could sleep through the night versus waking with nightmares. As I was still too weak to teach....I crafted. Oh, how I crafted!!

The crafting community is so kind, generous and helpful. I am inspired daily by the people on Etsy, at craft shows, and online. I know with certainty that crafting helped in the healing of my broken body and wounded spirit.

I am back to full time teaching my "little ducklings" at a wonderful new school and back to crafting (in a messy house) on the weekends or evenings. The two joys in my life restored!

I thank Him for guiding and supporting me on this path. I thank my husband for loving me through it all. And I thank you for enjoying my creations and shopping in my little Etsy shop. You can continue browsing here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/PrairieBlossoms

Take care.
