I happened upon on my soap business after harvesting lavender from our suburban lavender garden a few summers ago. I had posted a lot of pictures of my beautiful lavender on Facebook, prompting my aunt to ask what I was planning on doing with it. I thought for a bit and decided that soap making was in order!

After visiting the beautiful Olympic Peninsula in Washington state later in the summer and seeing how many people were selling homemade soap at street fairs, I was inspired to try my hand at the cold process soap making business.

When coming up with a name for my business, I thought about our locale. I feel a sort of kinship with the pioneers who braved their way through prairie lands many moons ago.

As for the sunshine aspect, I wanted to bring a positivity, an optimism, and some sunshine to the world with my soap and other products. It sounds simplistic and Pollyannaish to say that, but I feel this in my heart every day. I think there is too much negativity out there and it is so easy to get drawn into that in our everyday lives. I want to dwell on the sunshiny things in life. I've included an optimistic quote on each package of my soap to help us remember to have a little bit of happiness in our everyday life.

No two bars of soap are ever the same since they are all handmade, but they are made with a cheerful disposition for you. Every one of us deserves a little bit of sunshine every day.

I really hope you enjoy my soaps! Thank you and have a bright, sunshiny day!
