I graduated from school in 2002 with a degree in visual communications. From then I went to create ads, packaging, cover art etc. I started to lose interest in graphic design several years later and wanted to move on to other things. Well, I didn't technically move on till several years later.

I tried my hand at jewelry making, it was fun, but the simplicity of the pieces I was tinkering with was just not my style. They really weren't interesting to me, it was just a piece with no significant meaning.
I started thinking about what I actually liked… video games, zombies, cakes, cute things, cute things with a darker edge to them. I wanted to visually communicate the ideas I saw in my head. So I started making jewelry again, but this time incorporating my likes. My friends took a quick interest in my pieces… cute pieces… cute pieces that were zombies, random cute objects in a destructed state… I gave away the jewelry and sculptures I created to friends and family and I was completely oblivious to the fact that someone else out there may want to own them too till they suggested it. Thus, the idea of “Pretty Little Tragic” was born. It represented the idea of all innocent things can also have that darker flip side. It represented my random interests and trying to combine them. It also represented that my ideas didn’t have to make any sense and neither did the name “Pretty Little Tragic.”

If I like it, I’ll make it, and I hope someone out there can appreciate it too!
