About

I'm Melanie - I make the yummy smelling bath & body goodies, and take care of the web end of the business. Kokum (which means Grandma in Cree) crochets the Scollars and makes the felted wool dryer balls. We work out of our homes on Vancouver Island in beautiful British Columbia, Canada.

I live in the tiny town of Sayward, BC along with with my partner and our two homeschooled sons. We have 10 gorgeous acres of rugged, mostly untamed temperate rain-forest here. We're off the grid out here - we supply our own electricity with a micro hydro water wheel, solar panels, and a windmill. Not yet 100% self-sufficient, but we're getting there! Beyond our small handful of neighbours, we are surrounded by miles upon miles of forested, mountainous, gorgeous wilderness.

I decided to give each of the crocheted Scollars (a scarf you can wear as a collar) unique local names to avoid having to try to cram the sometimes numerous colours involved into the titles, and also to prevent confusing one red-and-black Scollar with another. Ü Choosing our favourite (and some we have yet to explore) local parks and landmarks, flora and fauna, and historical tidbits has been a lot of fun: I get to share a little more about the gorgeous part of the world we live in here, and I have been learning a ton too!

I do my best to show the colours of the Scollars accurately, but please allow for the variances of different computer monitors - and my amateur photography skills!

Please check the ingredients listed for bath and body products if you have any allergies. Some of my fragrance blends contain essential oils, so if you are pregnant or have health concerns, please check with your doctor or aromatherapist to determine if the oils are safe for you to use.

Most of my products contain natural vegetable oils and should be used within one year for best freshness and quality. Lotion is best used within 6 - 8 months, while the gold shea butter will last for at least two years.
