Prigrauce Crewel Creations is excited to offer crewel embroidery Christmas stocking kits for your enjoyment. I set up my Etsy Store in August, 2010, but didn’t list any of my kits until November, 2011; I spent those 15 months refining and assembling the kits I now offer!

Having made crewel embroidery Christmas stockings for my children when they were babies, I was anxious to get started on stockings for my grandchildren. If you are a fan of crewel embroidery, you have learned that most needlework companies discontinued stocking kits in crewel embroidery many years ago. The discontinuation of these kits by most manufacturers was a disappointment to us all. As most of us have discovered, the prices of those kits still available are beyond our reach. I am currently listing my kits at prices that will be a pleasant surprise to those of you searching for quality crewel embroidery stocking ki…

I am currently listing my kits at prices that will be a pleasant surprise to those of you searching for quality crewel embroidery stocking kits!

In November, 2008, my sister and I (she has never embroidered and I cannot draw!) came up with ideas for stockings for various family members. We received so many compliments on the finished stockings, I thought I would develop kits from those same designs and make them available to others. The fact that each of our designs was initially developed for a specific family member is the explanation for some of the, shall we say, less traditional themes!

Mine is a home-based business. I have personally embroidered each stocking offered, drafted the instructions and other documents contained within each kit, and hand assembled each and every kit. I continue to assemble kits as needed. The buck stops here! Because I assemble the kits myself, I can offer you flexibility that cannot be found elsewhere. If the kit you have selected comes with red felt backing, but you would prefer green, or you wish the car were blue instead of orange, or if only that little girl had brown hair, instead of blond, I can make it happen. My commitment to you doesn’t end when you decide to purchase one of my kits. Should you have a question while working on your stocking, contact me via e-mail, and count on a prompt response.

Our first design, Santa's Elves, is our most complex design, but even it can be completed by a novice embroiderer by following the step-by-step instructions. If you doubt me...when I embroidered that design, I did so after not having embroidered for 25 years and did so working only from a picture...the instructions were developed AFTER I decided to develop the designs into kits! I am working on simplifying this first design and the original kit may be phased out, so if you love it...don't wait too long to purchase!

I feel my kits are not only comparable in style and materials to the more popular discontinued crewel embroidery Christmas stocking kits, but are more user friendly because of the clear and concise instructions. I have received many emails from customers, with the common theme being women like me who are now ready to begin stockings for new daughters-in-law or sons-in-law or grandchildren, etc. The following is one that I received very recently:

“Hi Michelle, Thank you for your prompt delivery of the Polar Christmas stocking. I am impressed with the professional packaging, directions, floss and yarn and quality of the design. For the past 30 years I have made Dimension, Bucilla and Sunset crewel stocking for my children and grandchildren. The last two I had to buy "vintage" kits (6 years ago) as I could no longer find them. The prices were exorbitant. Now the prices have tripled. I refused to buy any more at that rate. So I am very glad you are making new designs and at a reasonable price. I will check back on your site to keep my eye out for your new designs. I loved the old Dimension ones with all the toys held by Santa or the dog and toys. Feel free to use my review for your site… Thanks, Very Happy Busy Grandmother.”

If you have an interest in crewel embroidery, I hope you will join my other pleased customers! Thank you!!
