Jess Purser's Profile

About

“I am inspired by stories – peoples’ stories and thoughts, what made them, where they came from... What are their REAL thoughts, worries, memories? Sad tales, happy events, metaphors, travel, magic, science, history, nature... In fact, I can’t think of a single person or thing which doesn’t inspire me...”

Jess Purser is a self-taught artist born in Yorkshire, U.K. Since then, she has travelled to, lived in and gained infinite ideas from many places from the Greek Islands, to the U.S. and the Far East. “I’ll often find ideas when doing the most mundane chores – sweeping the kitchen floor or returning from the shops, then suddenly, I’ll see the future painting and will have to rush to put it on canvas before it disappears from my imagination...hence my floors probably don’t get finished as often as they might otherwise...!”
She says she never knows where her work is going to take her next: “It’s so unpredictable, but I’ll make it my own, somehow...just like life”.
