Your purchases help provide a job for Ecuadorian women who are in poverty, as well as providing women with the gift of help when they are facing circumstances bigger than they are. An example of this is Leonor. Leonor's husband was murdered a few years ago, leaving her with 3 children and a younger sister to support. She has no close living family members to help her. I have hired Leonor to work for Encantadora and it has been a wonderful opportunity for her to learn a trade, earn an income, and regain a sense of purpose and dignity. Each purchase made (no…

About me? Well, I have had some sort of artisan project going ever since I can remember! Everything from macrame in the '70s to ceramics in the '80s to crazy clothing designs in the '90s. I was born and raised near Seattle, WA, in the U.S. but now live in Quito, Ecuador where my husband and I founded a mission in 2004.

I started out this jewelry making venture just for fun, and now I am addicted! I love creating unique and whimsical jewelry...the kind I want to wear and cannot usually find. After some time of creating these, I turned my attention to mixing new with my true love...vintage pieces. Working with these treasures has been a meticulous honing of the imaginative artisan side of me. Now I find myself hunting for forgotten treasures and honoring them by repurposing their wearability and bringing them back to life as something new and enchanting. This is where the name of my business comes from: "Encantadora" in Spanish translates to "Enchanting."

Please know that every piece of jewelry purchased will give desperately needed help to women. You can help me to help them by telling your friends about Que Encantadora on Etsy so that we have work to do!
