I started Quercus Silver while studying Jewellery and Design here in Bath, to help with my college and materials fees. My children were still very young and I was lucky to discover a craft that I love where I can work for myself and be around for my family when they need me.

For some years I worked from home. I built a shed in the garden. I grew my business online and became part of the Etsy community.

When I finished college I moved into a new workshop to work as a full-time jeweller. It's in an old maltings and I am surrounded by artists's studios. The space and creative atmosphere are great for my work and my business.

I am a member of the Association for Contemporary Jewellery and the Gloucestershire Guild. You can find my work in selected galleries and exhibitions across the UK.

By the way, I chose the name of my shop, Quercus - Latin for oak - because I'm really tall, grounded and I love oak trees.

I'm a proud member of EtsyMetal Team http://team.etsy.com/profilest/metal.shtml

~~A little bit about Resin~~

*I love working with metals but I also enjoy exploring alternative materials and techniques. I often use polyester resin because I can add glorious colour and sculptural forms to my jewellery. It's a lightweight and versatile material.
*I add ground artists' pigments for depth of colour and once set, filed and finished it is a very strong and durable material.
*I wear my resin and silver jewellery everyday. It gets a tough test in my studio!
*Care: Just be careful not to use strong chemicals when wearing resin or silver jewellery eg avoid contact with chlorinated pools or nail polish remover.
I recommend using warm soapy water and an old toothbrush to clean your silver and resin jewellery.
