Hi! Welcome to my shop, Quilt Rhapsody. The name comes from 2 of my favorite things, quilts & the music composition, Rhapsody in Blue. I don't know much abut music, except that I have a very eclectic range on my ipod, but this song moves me, listening to the changes through it and the creativity of Gershwin to combine this,,,wow!

Quilts. I guess the love of beautiful fabric and quilts is in my blood. I don't know how far back quilting in my family goes, but I'm sure it's a long way. I watched my Mama quilt and kick myself now that I didn't pay better attention. She could have taught me more than any other teacher I know of. But, Mama didn't like to teach and I wasn't into quilts. Until, my daughter was old enough that she did not want me making her clothes. What was I to do,,,all the beautiful fabrics out there,,,hummmm, must make a quilt. And that's all it took and I was…

Hi! Welcome to my shop, Quilt Rhapsody. The name comes from 2 of my favorite things, quilts & the music composition, Rhapsody in Blue. And that's all it took and I was hooked.

I've been quilting for more than 20 years. I made quilts I liked and then the grandkids came along so I started making quilts for them. People started requesting quilts for their babies or grandkids and I was eager to do this. To have something for this precious new life that they can play on, be comforted with and hold on for security. All the memories that they will make with their quilt and it will be an heirloom that they can pass on to their children.

So I spend a lot of time and attention to detail. Each quilt is as if it were mine, no hurrying to cut and put together just to get more inventory out. I "fussy cut" when necessary and love how that turns out. My least favorite quote is "finished is better than perfection" NO! NO! NO! If you're going to put this much time, effort and money into it, try to make it as perfect as possible. Quilts may have some slight imperfections, but don't make it noticeable from across the room!

I love where I'm at now. I get to meet new & expectant Moms through etsy, emails and phone conversations. The joy of planning and decorating while waiting for their arrival, priceless. And I get to have a tiny little part of that! Some times I get paint or fabric samples or photos of the nursery, these go on the design wall while I'm planning and putting their quilt together, making each one a little different and unique for them.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by. I hope you find something you like.

Blessings!
