About

Hi I'm Lou. I'm a Mom to two beautiful girls. I have a passion for creating fun, and decadent bath and body products! My first love will always be soap making, but I'm equally enamored with the science and creativity of lotion & perfume crafting!

I've lived in the beautiful and very green Pacific NW for most of my life. I'm a student, as well as a part time barista at a fun local coffee house.

My shop is about naturally based products, with a luxurious feel. I want to bring you the best products I can with simple, high quality ingredients.

I use recyclable containers, and ask that you do please recycle them. I try to re-use packing and shipping materials as much as possible.

About

Whenever I can, I buy organic oils and butters for my products, which currently includes all the coconut oil, shea and kokum butters I use, as well as all the essential oils.

I make cold and hot process soaps. Cold process is the "old fashioned" way of soap making. Lye and water, combined with fat (oils and butters) produces soaponification ... and like magic, it becomes Soap! When making hot process, the only difference is I cook the soap until the soaponification process is complete. It's a great method when I want to preserve the benefits of essential oils or special ingredients. The soap also needs less curing time with this method.

I cure my cp soap for at least 4 weeks before I list it. My hp soaps cure for at least 2 before listing. Curing time lets the fragrance in the soap bloom, the bar harden, and become more mild.

There is nothing quite as satisfying as gathering my raw materials together, mixing them up and watching them change before my eyes. It really never ceases to amaze me! :)

Besides soap my other specialties include body butters, lip balm, and perfume oils. I like to blend fragrances from essential oils and fragrance oils. All safe for your body, but if you're pregnant please use caution and contact me first to be sure it's safe for you to use.

All my products are made in a smoke and pet free environment.

Please don't hesitate to contact me with custom orders, gift pack ideas, special requests or just to chat! :)

A quote from one of my favorite books ever, to be sung while taking a bath! ;)

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain,
And the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
But better than rain or rippling streams
Is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
