Tonya Kopp and Amber Conger's Profile

About

Tonya has taken over the bridal side of Refinerii. She has been involved in art of all kinds since toddler-hood when she "delighted" her parents by scribbling on walls and cutting/redesigning anything she could reach with stolen scissors. She is fond of unusual natural materials such as animal bones and skulls scavenged during treks through the Idaho desert lands; pearls and sparkling gems, and metal in all forms: hyper-shiny to grunged-up patinas. Amber is the shop founder - a full time artist and sculptor. Her favorite materials are steel, copper, stainless steel and brass. She also uses concrete, glass, wood, stone and other elements in her work. She loves anything industrial...and has a particular obsession with gears.... :) Her work ranges from large scale public art to tiny jewelry pieces. Almost all of her materials come from the scrap yard, recycling centers, antique stores, or from friends who want to get rid of "junk" so she can make something...
