There once was a little girl with big brown eyes who loved to play in the mud. When she wasn't playing in the mud...her other favorite thing to do, was color. She colored and colored until she didn't want to color anymore, and then, she played with her easy bake oven.

Many years went by, and the little girl with the big brown eyes grew up. She continued to play in the mud...she still liked to color too, but she didn't use her crayons anymore, she found something better...beautiful creamy glazes. So she colored her mud with the pretty creamy glazes...but she couldn't put it in her easy bake oven anymore...because it was broken. So, she put it in her electric kiln instead, and baked it. And every time she opened her kiln...it was like Christmas!

ABOUT ME!

I grew up, an only child...The granddaughter of Portuguese Immigrants, who settled in the Historic Seaside City of New Bedford, Massachusetts...and that's where I was born. I lived in a middle class neighborhood with white picket fences, near Brooklawn Park. I spent my summers at the beach...building sand castles, and swimming in the ocean...on Cape Cod...and taking the ferry to Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. In the fall...I was in the mountains of Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine...where the trees, were brilliant shades of red, orange and yellow...which mesmerized me. I guess that's why I love leaves so much. And in the winter...I shoveled snow, made a snowman, and had snowball fights.

I spent a lot of time outdoors...So, I guess you could say, that nature has always inspired me. And even though I live in Florida now...on five acres, near the State Forest...with my husband, five grown children, and two little granddaughters, nature continues to inspire me...because no matter what window I look out of...or door I use...all I see is woods, trees and leaves.

ABOUT MY WORK!

I've been an artist most of my life. I started dancing when I was four, and I even had the opportunity to dance in New York City twice...once when I was twelve, and the second time when I was sixteen. I was a fashion model when I was a teenager, and dreamed of moving to New York City after graduation...but then I met my husband...and everything changed!

I fell in love with clay, in 1990...when I took my first ceramics class, at North Harris County College (now Lone Star College), in Houston, Texas. Then after moving to Arizona...I attended Mesa Community College, where I participated in the empty bowl project, Don Reitz workshop and Thanos Johnson's workshop.

After moving to Florida, I continued to work with clay...while raising five children, taking classes at CFCC...and going to art shows. And, after all these years, I still love clay! I love the way it feels in my hands, and the way it squishes through my fingers when I throw, I even like the way it smells.

Thanks for stopping by...and come back often, because I love to design, and there will always be something new and different to see!
