When I was a very young girl I became fascinated by colour, how one shade blended with another to create something entirely new. Slowly I taught myself to sew, picking up ideas along the way and learning from chance articles or encounters with gifted people. By the time I was twenty I was using several different mediums and experimenting with designing clothes and accessories. Since I especially loved working with laces and delicate fabrics I began ( albeit timidly at first ) to design bridal veils and headpieces which branched into wedding dresses and formal gowns. If it's made of fabric I want to try to do something with it, and I have over the years learned fine embroidery, beadwork, braided carpets (thank you, aunt Jo) upholstery, designing technique, and not to be intimidated by new ideas, no matter how impossible they seem.
