Welcome! Thank you for visiting Reedsong Baskets!

About My Baskets:
Every ReedSong Basket is handmade by me, and never formed over a mold; each is a one of a kind work of usable art. These are nothing like the mass-produced baskets you see piled high in the bins in the big box stores. My heirloom-quality baskets should, with proper use and care, last a lifetime. All items from my store come from a smoke-free home. I send all items using USPS Priority shipping, packed carefully with recyclable materials and stamped Fragile. If you purchase more than one item from my store, there is a $1 additional shipping charge after the first item.

If there is a specific basket shape or size you are seeking, and you do not see it here, please convo me, and I will be happy to consider your request! Please visit http://reedsongbaskets.com for more information…

About me:
During 10 months of the year, I am a middle school band director and general music teacher. I live in southwest New Hampshire with my husband, our son, and our two cats, Sphynx and Simba. I discovered the wonderful craft of basketry quite by accident in March of 2007. Since then, it has become a real passion, and something I really enjoy doing when I find myself with a little downtime :)

About the function of baskets in society:
Think about all the times you've used a plastic or paper bag to carry your various belongings to and from the car. Baskets are eco-friendly and endlessly reusable. They will make quite a statement when incorporated into your daily errands!

These timeless containers have so many uses. They can brighten a room or office with little effort, hold dried flowers, or bear gifts. They can carry any number of items- knitting, sewing, and crafting projects, children's toys, magazines, books, towels, anything!- to and fro. They are great for toting food such as fruit and vegetables from a farmer's market, or flowers and herbs-maybe even weeds- from your own garden. They are lightweight but strong. No wonder baskets are thought to be the oldest kind of handmade container used by humans through the ages!

Thank you again for stopping by my shop. I hope you find something here that will brighten your day and your home!
