About

Lambs Ears Knits was born after years of preparation, dedication and a passion of all things involving wool.

I first picked up yarn as a small child, intrigued by my mothers and grandmothers knitting and crocheting that was made without obvious thought or effort. I was amazed that I too, could take raw yarn and make hats, scarves, afghans and other warm useful items. Naturally, after my first project, I was ready for more.

I've been knitting now for about 30 years. As most hobbies that progress into obsessions, I have come quite a ways! I have taught myself how to spin with a drop spindle, spin on a spinning wheel (I now have 2!) and hand dye the wool.

But that fancy stuff is what I do in my other shop, ForeverWindingWool. This shop is where I relax and knit my favorites. After 7 years of selling online, I have learned to keep the designs I sell simple, classic, warm and durable.

I use American sourced wool and small businesses whenever I can. It just makes sense to me. Many times these businesses have a higher overhead, smaller staff but greater care for the animals and quality. Consequently, the prices of their yarns are higher. I feel their yarns and the finished items they produce are worth every cent, and believe you will too. The prices of my handknit items reflect that quality, care and pride in every step. I am proud to offer a wide variety of hand knit items, each lovingly and skillfully crafted to offer you high-quality warmth at a fair price.

I hope you enjoy browsing and selecting the hats, mittens and scarves. You will find great quality and warmth..."just what you needed". I know I truly enjoyed making every piece.

Thank you for visiting my shop.
