I live in the southwest corner of Western Australia, near Bunbury. I've sewn since I was a child, then did tapestry, and started quilting some years ago.
Work sidetracked me for a long time, but since we moved 'down south', I've taken up quilting again (I'm still working, but now from home). I also create fabric art and make functional pieces from fabric using various techniques, such as applique, and I get a real creative buzz from it. When pricing, I consider the cost of materials (quilting cotton fabrics are at least $20 a metre in Australia [batiks are around $25 a metre], and thread is much more expensive than in the US), and the time I spend on an item.
