Donna Merrell's Profile
My love for creating things started when I sewed clothes for my Barbie doll and made her shoes to match. I've had a long career in the arts as a graphic designer, fine artist and crafter. I made primitive style dolls for a number of years. In college, I took several jewelry making courses and have returned to my roots and picked up the beads and baubles again.
I named my shop in honor of my mom, Rita, who died of breast cancer 12 years ago. My avatar is a picture of her when she was 19 years old. She always liked the picture because she said she "was skinny and still had boobs"! I still miss her humor!
I changed careers about 6 years ago and now work with children with autism. They have taught me that there is more than one way to view the world. Many of the children have extraordinary artistic talents and I love to watch what they come up with!
