My name is Robin Marie. I grew up on a farm in rural New York, adventuring in fields and woods, jumping in creeks and generally getting messy. I read a lot of books, and played a lot of make-believe. I still indulge my imagination, but now I allow those images to become tangible!

I recently graduated from SUNY New Paltz after four years studying visual arts with a focus on metalsmithing. Now in it's fifth year, Soasa is the venue by which I feed my constant need to create and work with my hands. With my jewelry I seek to emphasize the beauty of simplicity through subtle color and basic forms which are the product of reduction and restraint while designing. Soasa (pronounced So-sah) is derived from the initials of my original business name, Soul of a Starving Artist. The name reflects the intensity that many entrepreneurs encounter, the feeling of pouring one's very essence into the production of one's work.
